Why do people use tracfones

Here are five reasons why it makes sense to get an extra device, and how to find one that won't cost a fortune. Reason 1: You don't want Facebook to know you're trying to get pregnant. A majority of people are concerned about their online data and privacy iStock. Facebook got zapped in early for collecting data from pregnancy and ovulation trackers on people using the apps — even if they did not have a Facebook account. Then more apps, in September , were tagged with the same problem, letting the social media network know, for example, when someone opened one of the apps.

These incidents only make more people worried about their online data and privacy, than the 74 percent who are already "concerned or very concerned," according to a study from Winston Privacy.

Apple now has a menstruation tracker baked into its health app on the iPhone. But to keep some personal health data out of a company's hands may be worth considering. A second phone is a backup when your primary smartphone is out of commission GearBrain. Who hasn't drowned a smartphone in a puddle, destroyed a screen or had a smartphone just gack and die? Don't think you're dropping your iPhone at Apple and walking out with a repaired device while you wait.

Having a second phone — with email, or even Slack , already loaded, and a phone number that family has as a backup could make the difference between being your life stalling and being able to stress when the Apple Genius Bar tells you they'll call you when they're done. I love TracFone Wireless. The voice and connectivity coverage is great locally and nationally and I don't call internationally so I don't know about that.

The internet and camera functions are pretty good and voice calls sound is great. This is "the David communication" in a land of Goliaths. Great deal. I like having a person to talk to with any service needs. Very helpful. Great service. Always complete resolution of issue when service required. I have never had dropped calls or loss of service. I chuckle when I hear of the multiple problems others have and their complaints about poor service from nationwide big carriers. Have kept Tracfone service for years for mild usage.

After account was updated my minutes and text balances were GONE! Chat and phone with customer service got me, "You have zero minutes and zero text ". No explanation of how more than 13 hours of call time and more than text disappeared overnight. Dishonest behavior by this company certainly calls into question the benefits of Tracfone service. I received my order I called to activate my phone for service.

I was asked if I wanted to do the auto plan. I accepted the plan and said I already paid for the first month so this will begin after correct? I was told this was correct. Then they offered a transfer of phone numbers. I requested the number be transferred from ATT. Tracfone did not properly transfer the number. I again told them I had paid for minutes when I ordered the phone online. I was not to be charged until This was my mother's phone.

I could call out on the phone but we could not call her number. It only affected the ATT incoming calls. Someone with Verizon could call her. Strange I know! I personally spent over hours on the phone with Tracfone attempting to resolve this issue. I would be told the same thing over and over again.

They would test the line and find the same issue. They had no idea why this was an issue. Day after day I got agent after agent who never resolved the problem. I never gave my mother the phone. My mother is 84 and was without a phone for over a week. In just an hour or two anyone can have a mobile phone with no further monetary obligations.

Although contract phones don't take very long to set up either, they do require a bit more ink. Thus many people are choosing a prepaid carrier such as Tracfone, simply because it is easy to deal with, and there are no strings attached as far as keeping up with payments or upgrades. Convenience Along the same lines of ease of use, Tracfones and other prepaid mobile phones tend to be very convenient in that when you need them, you can add minutes and they are ready to use.

If you don't need it for a few months, then no need to waste money on it, you can just not buy any minutes for it. This convenience of choosing when you want to have a cell phone is another significant reason for consumers picking Tracfone.

Be aware, however, phone calls use up your regular mobile phone minutes. Surf Report readers, have you ever used a burner phone? Tell us in the Comments section.
